Dr. Federica Carlotto is a social anthropologist specialised in luxury, fashion and other cultural & creative industries. By applying the lens of human science to markets, trends and brands, Federica delves into the thick layers of meaning behind consumer behaviour, producing strategic business intelligence. Her cultural insights also look at connecting business with communities and the society at large, for responsible value creation.

Ph.D. in Fashion Sociology and MBA in Luxury Brand Management, Federica blends sound academic training and professional expertise across Europe and Asia.

Federica collaborates with consultancies, start-ups and established companies on research-based projects and workshops. For academia, Federica designs contents and lectures in subject areas related to consumer behaviour, brand management, market analysis, digital research, and business strategy. Federica regularly participates as speaker at symposiums and panels, and contributes to media inquiries.

Her research explores a variety of topics, from digital customer engagement to country branding. Her latest project involves a collaboration with Fortnum & Mason on the analysis of the company’s digital heritage storytelling. The research has been published in the volume “Storytelling in Luxury Fashion: Brands, Visual Cultures, and Technologies.”
