About me

RxART is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help children heal through the extraordinary power of visual art. We commission exceptional contemporary artists to transform sterile healthcare facilities into engaging and inspiring environments full of beauty, humor, and comfort. RxART produces every project at no cost to the hospitals. Every artist is provided with an honorarium and the chance to transform the lives of children as they heal. Diane Brown is a distinguished figure in the realm of art, celebrated for her dynamic leadership and substantial contributions to the field. As the current President of RxArt, Inc., she has held this esteemed position since the year 2000, marking an impressive 24-year tenure of continuous dedication to the organization. Under her visionary guidance, RxArt has flourished, leaving an indelible mark on the intersection of contemporary art and healing environments. During her 16-year presidency, she played a pivotal role in shaping RxArt's mission to transform clinical spaces into inspiring environments through the integration of contemporary art. Before her involvement with RxArt, Diane Brown served as a curator at Big Flower in New York from 1996 to 2001.  Diane's journey in the art world extends even further, as she owned and operated the Diane Brown Gallery for an impressive 16-year period from 1976 to 1992. Her gallery served as a cultural hub, providing a platform for emerging and established artists alike to showcase their work. Her commitment to nurturing artistic talent and fostering a vibrant artistic community was evident throughout her ownership of the gallery.

With a career spanning several decades, Diane Brown has left an enduring legacy in the art world, marked by her visionary leadership, curatorial expertise, and unwavering commitment to the transformative power of art.
